Instructions for presenters

The information below is for archive purposes only.

A computer will be provided for oral presentations. Speakers must upload their talks on the computer at the front of the lecture theatre at the beginning of the break before their session (at the latest). To save time we would prefer speakers to use the computer provided rather than their own, but it should be possible to connect laptops if necessary. Mac users should bring appropriate connectors. (We also note that UK plugs for power are not the same as in continental Europe/ the US/ Japan, so a converter may be necessary).

  • Invited oral presentations: talks are strictly limited to 35 minutes, with a further 5 minutes scheduled for questions.
  • Contributed oral presentations: talks are strictly limited to 15 minutes, with a further 5 minutes scheduled for questions.
  • Poster presentations: the poster boards are 1200 mm by 900 mm and will be mounted in portrait orientation. We recommend preparing posters in A0 size (1189 mm x 841 mm). Enough boards will be provided for all posters to be displayed for the whole conference, with the presenters only expected to be present for the duration of the timetabled poster sessions.
